My Testimony

My Testimony

When I look back over my life, I can see the faithfulness of God in ways I could not always see in the moment. There have been seasons of clarity and seasons of uncertainty, seasons of joy and seasons of stretching, but through all of them, the Lord has been steady. He has led me, kept me, corrected me, strengthened me, and loved me more faithfully than I ever could have imagined.

My walk with the Lord has not been a straight line or a story of having everything figured out. It has been a journey of learning to trust Him more deeply, surrender more fully, and follow Him more faithfully in the everyday moments of life. Over the years, God has continued to show me that holiness is not only found in the big, dramatic moments, but in the ordinary places of obedience — in prayer, in perseverance, in serving, in loving people well, and in saying yes to Him one day at a time.

I have worn many hats in life. I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a veteran, an educator, and now a pastor. Each of those roles has shaped me, stretched me, and taught me something about the character of God. My military background taught me discipline, endurance, and service. My work in education deepened my love for helping others grow and learn. Ministry has taught me again and again that people do not need perfection — they need truth, compassion, grace, and the presence of Jesus.

One of the things I hold closest in my heart is the truth that God does not waste any part of our story. He uses every season — even the hard ones — to form us for His purpose. There were times in my life when I did not fully understand what the Lord was doing, but now I can see that He was preparing me, little by little, for the work He was calling me to do.

The call to pastoral ministry was not something I took lightly. It has come through prayer, surrender, and the quiet but steady leading of the Holy Spirit. In this season, I have felt that call very personally in my journey to Cottle First Church of God. For quite some time, I sensed that God was drawing my heart toward this church. When the opportunity came, it did not feel random to me. It felt like the continuation of something God had already been speaking. I knew I needed to answer with faith and obedience.

My desire in ministry is simple: to preach the Word of God faithfully, to love people well, and to help others grow in grace and walk in holiness. I believe the church should be a place where people can encounter Jesus, be rooted in truth, find genuine belonging, and be encouraged to live faithfully in everyday life. I believe Jesus still saves, still sanctifies, still heals, still calls, and still builds His church.

The message that continues to rise in my heart is what I often think of as ordinary holiness. I believe holiness is not about putting on a performance or appearing spiritual on the outside. It is about a life that is being shaped by Jesus from the inside out. It is about everyday surrender. Everyday obedience. Everyday faithfulness. It is about loving God with your whole heart and letting that love shape the way you live, serve, speak, and care for others.

My testimony is simply this: God has been faithful. He has carried me through seasons I never thought I could walk through, opened doors I could not have opened myself, and continued to call me even when I felt inadequate. Time and again, He has reminded me that His grace is sufficient. If my life tells any story, I hope it tells of His faithfulness — in the waiting, in the weakness, and in the ordinary places where He quietly does His work. I am grateful for the road He has brought me down, for the people He has placed in my life, and for the privilege of serving Him in this season. My desire is simply to follow Jesus, love people well, and be faithful to whatever He asks of me.

In His Service,

Rev. Angela Wilson
